During the past few weeks: I have learnt about the Great Southern Land and the history of the first European settlement in Victoria. I most enjoyed the Humanities class on the comprehension worksheets involving reading a context about an explorer and answering the questions. My attitude has devoted itself towards learning and has also changed on a positive note from this class. My behaviour has helped me complete most of my work to the best of my abilities. My interim report in the subject wilI indicate that I have been up to date with my work and have been organised with my book and folders. The hardest task I have had to complete was the Greath Southern Land research essay, this is because a lot of research and effort to be put in to produce an essay. My workbook is clean and neat, although I do not stick the majority of my work into my book, I keep it separately in a folder where I file all my work and papers. My greatest strength is using an essay structure in a piece of writing, it helps me organise my ideas neatly and allows my essay to flow. The two areas of my learning that I want to focus on improving are: 1. Using the correct grammar and punctuation in my work. 2. Cramming all these significant historic dates into my head, so that I may use it for future references. I am happy with my progress through the year so far, but I am still improving on many areas of my organisation and work.
What is the most important thing that you have you learnt in Humanities in the past month?
The most important thing that I have learnt in Humanities in the past month is the first settlement in Melbourne that developed to become what it is today.
What did you do to help yourself learn?
I helped myself to learn by listening to the teacher and concentrated on my work when completing given tasks.
What did you do that made it difficult for you to learn well?
When I eat sugar, I become euphoric and therefore I can not concentrate properly.
Who did you work with? Were these effective (good) working relationships?
I worked with Selman and Amanda. Both these people worked effectively with me and I found that we had an effective working relationship.
How is your progress towards meeting your goals for the semester?
My progress towards meeting my goals for this semester is advancing as I expected, however I still want to exelerate more in my learning
05/05/10.
My goals for the rest of this semester are:
1. Pushing myself forward to a higher level than I currently am. I want to get the best marks that I can out of my high school reports. However, the only problem that I have in fulfilling this goal is that I have no competition or motivation.
2. I am wanting to achieve an 'A' in every subject possible for the mid-year reports. I need a good first semester report to create a good resume for the MHS entrance exam. I will focus on every subject possible and work to the best of my abilties.
3. Complete as much work as possible during class time. I want to put more effort into class time and use free time for other work. Though, I would have to be very dedicated to this goal to achieve it.
11/08/10 - Add reflective comments to each of these questions.
What is the most important thing(s) that you have learnt in Me & My World this semester? Justify with reasons.
Learning the foundations and skimming the top of Economics, I believe, is the most important aspect I have learnt through this semester. This helps us become aware of how our economy runs and the simplification of basic economic studies.
If you were the teacher of this class, what is one immediate change you would make which would be an improvement?
I would make class more fun. Through my explanations I would try to make the class laugh and enjoy my explanations, adding simple jokes that will make the class more fun.
How do you measure personal success?
By looking back at your work and see how you feel about it, although take time in order to carefully analyse your efforts.
Have you been successful in Me & My World this Semester? How do you know this or how do you make this judgement?
I believe that I am successful in Me & My World this Semester because I have completed my work with all my efforts. When I look back at my completed tasks, I feel proud of my work
How much time in this class is profitable (used for learning)? Explain
Every minute counts within this class, although lecturing at the beginning of every class takes away our learning time. We've heard it enough times that it could be predictable of what you would say at the beginning of almost every class of MW.
What is one word you would use to describe your class?
Slacking.
What are your goals for Semester 2?
1. To complete all set tasks with quality and all hard efforts.
2. To listen and remember the information explained in class by the teacher.
For each of your goals, review your progress and rate yourself on how well you have achieved each goal (out of "5 stars") explaining the reasons for each rating.
Goal #1: 3/5 - I can always see a gap in my work after when I submit it to the teacher.
Goal #2: 3/5 - I tend to forget the information explained at times, simply because it is sometimes not interesting - explaining topics would be more interesting if it more positive.
How prepared do you feel you are to undertake a VCE subject next year?
Quite prepared, because I am choosing math and science subjects, in which I am very capable of. Although, dedication is required in order to achieve success.

Are you happy with the Homework habits you have developed and will they greatly assistyou next year? Explain. I believe that I am making my way to my Homework habits, though I still have great room to improve my organisational skills. How many times have you been recognised on the "Hall of Fame" wiki page and how doyou feel about this? I have been recognised twice in the “Hall of Fame”, I feel quite proud of this, although there are other people who have been recognised more than me. Even though I feel a bit frustrated by this, I believe that it is very reasonable and that I deserve it only two. j. My teacher always ....... (complete this statement by writing a brief paragraph) My teacher is always ready to lend a helping hand when a student is frustrated with their work. He makes students think of the issue by formulating questions to make students more clear of their viewpoints. He gives very good lectures that have meaning and are straight forward.
